  • The best views of Sarajevo

I very randomly woke up at 4AM this morning, so I finally had time to write this promised blog post! To those of you who asked, thank you so much - I hope this list takes you on wonderful adventures and builds beautiful memories for you and those you choose to share them with 💞 Without further ado, here are 10 places you can catch awe-inducing views of the beautiful city of Sarajevo. 1. Park Princeva IG: https://www.instagram.com/restoranparkprinceva/ Open: Daily 8:00AM - 11:00PM This is my favourite restaurant -view of Sarajevo! I have tried various items from their food menu and have not had a single bad experience. If you arrive at sunset, you get to see the sky over Sarajevo transform from a beautiful blue to various shades of pink and orange - all while traditional Bosnian "tamburaši" sing and play some of our country's most beautiful songs. The only tricky bit is getting up there (if you are not a seasoned driver in these streets) but it's a quick 5ish minute cab ride from the center! 2. Kibe Mahale IG: https://www.instagram.com/explore/locations/369984957/restaurant-kibe-mahala/ Open: Monday-Saturday 11:00AM-11:00PM The food at Kibe is said to be as delicious as the view! This is another spot I haven't had the chance to visit yet, but I hear it has a similar vibe to Park Princeva as both food and music are concerned. The menu is not very large, but it is composed almost entirely of traditional Bosnian foods like klepe, stuffed peppers, cevapi, and sogandolma - have a look at the menu here. 3. Zuta Tabija While this is not a restaurant or cafe, this is one of my favorite views of the city! I'll warn you though, some of the climbing necessary to get to where I am sitting in y IG shot is not .....advise-able. It's nothing life-threatening by any means but it is very high up! Well worth it, but always use your own judgement (nemoj da vas ja na dusi nosim 😅). 4. Caffe Hecco Deluxe IG: https://www.instagram.com/heccodeluxe/ Open Daily 10:00AM-11:00PM I can't say much about the beverages here as I've only had iced coffee and I think one or two juices (which were all average) - but everyone knows you don't head up to the last floor of Hotel Hecco Deluxe for the beverages - you go, and stay for the 180 degree view of Sarajevo. There is no food served here, so make sure you eat before, or plan for a bite after. 5. Marriot Inn - SOne Sky Lounge https://www.instagram.com/sone_skylounge_sarajevo/ Open Daily 8AM-12AM I love the vibe here! Much like most other places on this list SkyBar has a very modern - almost art-deco - vibe about it which makes it perfect for cocktails! Again, I say come here for sunset because the view is as stunning in the daytime as it is at night, and the cocktails are plentiful! 6. Cafe Kamarija Point of View https://www.instagram.com/caffe.kamarija/ Open Daily 8:00AM-11:30PM I haven't had the chance to visit this gem myself just yet, but it's on my list for this trip! The view is so beautiful, but as it's a very open space I would say be careful of he weather - especially if you don't do well with heat. From what I have gathered online there is no food, but they do server coffee (of course) as well as other drinks. 7. Zicara https://www.zicara.ba/ Open Daily 9:00AM-9:00PM I would like to preface this by letting you know I have a massive fear of heights - and would have to have a long hard think about whether or not I'd get back up on the zicara - but the views honestly make it well worth it and almost distract you from the reality of where you are 😅 a cafe has now opened at the top of Trebevic (which is where the peak of the zicara is located and where you can get off should you choose to). I haven't been yet but I have heard the food is as good as the view! 8. Restoran Bijela Tabija IG: https://www.instagram.com/restoran_bijela_tabija/?hl=en Open: Daily 10:00AM-11:00PM I had lunch at this restaurant with my cousins a few years ago and the location is so beautiful! I specifically remember the soup being absolutely delicious, and would definitely sit outside next time. The indoor space is super cosy and perfect for cooler days, especially in the fall and winter. 9. Hedona Wine Club IG: https://www.instagram.com/wineclubhedona/ Open: Monday-Saturday 1:30PM-11:00PM. This place has been on my list since it first popped on to my feed but due to it's location I never got around to going! Now that I have access to a car, I look forward to sipping a glass of ice cold white wine on the beautiful terrace at Hedona Wine Club! It seems to be a very popular wedding spot, so I'd make sure to check whether or not they are open for guests ahead of time, especially in the summer as that is the peak wedding season. They also offer wine tastings from 45 euro per person, as well as lunch and dinner options which can be reserved on their website. 10. Basca Kod Ene IG: https://www.instagram.com/bascakodene/ Open: Daily 9:00AM-11:00PM I came across this restaurant on TikTok funnily enough, and added it to my list immediately as the view is gorgeous but the food looks aaaaamazing (menu). I have a feeeling this is one of those pictures-can't-do-it-justice places and hope I can squeeze in a visit soon! Honorable mention: Inat Kuca IG: https://www.instagram.com/inatkuca_spitehouse/ Open: While this may not be a birds-eye view of Sarajevo, I think it deserves a mention as you are sat opposite Sarajevo's busiest street, overlooking the Vijecnica (National Library) while the sound of the river Miljacka plays softly in the background. The house also has some pretty incredible history which can be found here. I sincerely hope this list will come in handy for anyone looking to catch a beautiful glimpse of our breath-taking capitol, and that you enjoy the city that holds so much magic - even in the most unexpected of places. All my love,
